TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) --A medical plane carrying a burn survivor touched down in Tupelo Friday as family members awaited to greet the little passenger.

Gabe Wigginton suffered second and third degree burns from head to toe in October.

He has been receiving treatment at a burn center in Georgia.

His grandfater, Jimmy Ensley, was burning out a gasoline tank when the accident happened.

Ensley said the fire appeared to go out, but when he turned the tank over flames jumped onto the child.

"This is the happiest day I think for everybody here. He's our baby and everybody loves Gabe. He just wins your heart as soon as you see him. Everybody has been through a lot mentally and physically. We're just all so happy to have him coming home," said Ensley.

Family members say Gabe will return to Georgia in a couple of weeks for more treatments.
