TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- It wasn't easy, but Lee County Supervisor Bobby Smith has found the ideal location for a voting precinct.

Parkway Baptist Church is where voters from Tupelo 2 and Flowerdale will cast a vote.

"It took us a while, but we found it," Supervisor Smith said.

In recent weeks, he and other Lee County Supervisors had to re-draw voting district lines. Once the U.S. Census numbers are in, that is the task that must be carried out to comply with the U.S. Department of Justice.

Change has come to every district.

"It's always a concern when you change precincts because people get used to voting at one particular place and when you move it, there's always confusion," Supervisor Smith added.

It's confusion that Lee County Circuit Clerk Joyce Loftin hopes to avoid in all 14 precincts affected.

We have sent out 28-29,000 voter cards. If you got a new, yellow voter card, that's what you need to go by unless you have moved. If you have moved and changed your address, you need to contact us immediately," Loftin said.

Circuit Clerk's Office File Clerk J. David Baker says he hopes people will pay attention to the changes.

"People are very difficult trying to make them understand what is actually taking place. They don't understand at all. They think they can go to the same place," Baker said.

Here is the list of precincts where registered voters will receive a new voter card:

1st Supervisor District (Eggville and Auburn)

2nd Supervisor District (Cedar Hill (now including Blair & Corrona) and Tupelo-2 (now including Flowerdale)

3rd Supervisor District (Belden, Bissell and Tupelo-3)

4th Supervisor District (Tupelo-4 North, Tupelo-4 South and Palmetto)

5th Supervisor District (Mooreville (now including all District 5), Gilvo (now including all District 5, Verona and Shannon)

Anyone with questions should call the Lee County Circuit Clerk's office at 841-9024.
