Kemira to purchase 3F Chimica facilities

SANDRIGO, Italy (WTVA) -- Kemira has signed an agreement to acquire 3F Chimica.

The sale was announced by Kemira officials Monday morning.

3F Chimica is a privately owned company headquartered in Sandrigo, Italy.

The company operates three manfacturing facilities, two in Italy and one in Aberdeen, Mississippi.

3F produces dry and emulsion polymers and related chemicals used in retention and drainage for paper production and drilling, extraction and stimulation in the oil and gas industry.

The products also are used in to optimize production in the mining industry and in wastewater treatment.

The company is expected to have revenues of nearly 75 million Euros in 2013.

Kemira is paying 85 million Euros for 3F Chimica.
