COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Lowndes County Chancery Court judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by former school superintendent Martha Liddell against the Columbus Municipal School district.

School officials tell WTVA.com the judge dismissed the lawsuit this week.

Liddell had filed the lawsuit asking the court to order the school board to reinstate her.

The school board voted 3-2 on June 17 to terminate Liddell, but declined to give an official reason for her dismissal.

She had served as superintendent for just over a year.

Liddell has asked the school board for a hearing on her termination.

In the ruling, the chancery judge said he was dismissing the case because that hearing had not taken place.
