SHERMAN, Miss. (WTVA) -- The investigation continues into a shooting and fire at a Sherman business Thursday night.
As we first reported on WTVA.com, police were called to the Sherman Gas Station Thursday night after a man was throwing things and behaving erratically at the building.
When officers arrived, the man barricaded himself inside the building.
At one point, the man, identifed as Anthla Wade, 46, of Sherman, began shooting at law enforcement officers.
He later set fire to the building and was arrested when he ran outside.
Firefighters battled the blaze, which did significant damage to the building.
Sherman Police Chief Joel Spellings tells WTVA News Wade is being held in the Pontotoc County jail.
He says Wade will undergo a mental evaluation this weekend.
Spelllings says his department will file charges over the incident next week.
