OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) -- The investigation into the death of two Ole Miss students in a traffic accident Saturday in Oxford is still underway.

Police Chief Mike Martin says they are currently waiting the results of blood testing from the state crime lab.

John Wheat, 30, and his sister, Sarah Wheat, 24, both died from injuries suffered in the accident.

Investigators say it appears one vehicle crossed the median on Highway 6 near the Highway 7 exit and hit another vehicle head on around 11 a.m. Saturday morning.

The driver of the other vehicle was treated at an Oxford hospital and released.

Martin says they will not release further details on the accident, or the name of the driver until the investigation is complete.
