CALHOUN CITY, Miss. (WTVA) -- A man wounded during a shooting incident that left one man dead has yet to talk to authorities about the incident.
Calhoun County Sheriff Greg Pollan says he has yet to interview Wayne Harris about the shooting on January 10 just south of Calhoun City.
Chris McConagill was shot six times and died a short time later at an Oxford hospital.
Harris was shot once in the leg and was treated at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Pollan says both men were at a cookout at a building owned by McConagill.
He says five other people were also present when the shooting took place.
Investigators says 12 shots were fired in an exchange of gunfire following an argument.
Pollan says he has spoken with Harris' attorney and is working with him to arrange a meeting with Harris to discuss the events that lead up to the shooting.
District Attorney Ben Creekmore would not comment on the case because it remains under investigation.
He did say he was confident they would present the findings to the Calhoun County grand jury in April.
