TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- The investigation into a July fire of a Lee County building is continuing.

Sheriff Jim Johnson says findings from the investigation were presented to a grand jury.

He says since that time, new evidence has come to light in investigation.

Palmetto Fire Department Assistant Chief Wally Bruce suffered first and second degree burns when he entered the old Malone's Fish and Steak house building the morning of the fire.

He was treated at a Jackson burn center for his injuries.

Eight fire departments were called to the scene to battle the blaze.

The building was a total loss.
