TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- A federal grand jury has handed down indictments against five men arrested in Tupelo on charges they attempted to meet a minor for sex.

Alex D. Berry, 28, of Pontotoc, Bradley Gilmore, 23, of Potts Camp, Jon Cody Pannell, 21, of New Albany, Garry Waddle, 65, of Saltillo and Christopher Pickle, 30, all made initial appearances before a federal magistrate on Wednesday.

The indictments say the men used the internet or cellphones to arrange to meet a 15-year-old for sexual purposes.

All five were arrested by Tupelo police earlier this year.

They will be arraigned Friday in federal court in Oxford.
