LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) — A homeowner was able to safely escape his home in the Lake Piomingo area after it went up in flames Wednesday night.
Firefighters were called before 9 p.m. to the house on Road 1682.
The owner was the only person inside the structure.
He said a wood heater started the fire while he was asleep.
The home is described by firefighters as being a total loss.
