JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - Authorities have raided four places in Holly Springs and as a result, six people have been arrested.
According to Attorney General Jim Hood, three people were charged with a gambling related charge, two face a drug related charge and a sixth person has been charged with disorderly conduct.
According to a news release from the Attorney General's Office, ten illegal video poker machines were seized, and have been destroyed.
Authorities say all six people arrested are Holly Springs residents.
Here are the names and their charge.
Goston Glove Jr., 47, 265 Slayden Street, one count of Illegal Gambling
James Lee Carothers, 65, one count of Illegal Gambling
Lee Otis Bell, 43, one count of Disorderly Conduct
Richard Lumpkin, Jr., 65, of Holly Springs, one count of Felony Possession Of Cocaine
Oliver White Jr., 39, one count of Simple Possession Of Marajuana
Lerlon Hardaway Sr., 68, five counts of Possession of Gambling Equipment (Bond set at $5,000.)
State and local agencies that assited in the raids include the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Mississippi Alcohol Beverage Control Agents, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Holly Springs Police Department, Tippah County Sheriff’s Office, Ripley Police Department, Walnut Police Department, and Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
