MARION COUNTY, Ala. (WTVA) -- A head-on collision on Highway 78 in Marion County sent one person to the hospital with injuries Friday afternoon.
The Alabama Highway Patrol says a passenger vehicle heading west crossed the median and hit a tractor trailer just before 12:30 p.m.
The person in the vehicle was injured and airlifted to NMMC.
The crash happened about a half mile from the Mississippi state line.
Alabama does not have a cable system on highway 78 to prevent vehicles from crossing into oncoming traffic.
