TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Crews from Busylad were definitely busy Thursday setting up tents and stages for the annual Gumtree Festival in Tupelo.
The festival is held around the Lee County Courthouse each Mother's Day weekend and the Busylad guys will be busy until then.
Busylad's Justin Richardson said, "We're setting up three different tents. We're setting up staging underneath for the Gumtree Festival. We've been out here all day working pretty hard."
Soon the streets and sidewalks here will showcase art from artists all around the region and country.
Gumball organizer Nancy Diffee said, "It's a beautiful, juried festival with top artists. It's a really good festival for our community. It's a time you can come look for wonderful artwork, pottery, and jewelry."
In the meantime, remember the streets around the courthouse are already limited to traffic as the festival itself runs Saturday from 9:00 a-m to 5:00 p-m and Sunday 10:00 a-m to 5:00 p-m.
The Gumtree Festival will affect traffic in and around the courthouse. The Gumtree Race on Saturday morning will affect traffic on Main Street and other parts of Tupelo.
More than 100 exhibitors will be at the Gumtree Festival and there will music, food and kids activities.
Organizers say plan to come on by and check it out.
Remember the Gumball fund raiser is held Friday night at 7:00 p-m at Goodlett Manor to kick the weekend off.
