GRENADA, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Mississippi Court of Appeals has denied the appeals of a Grenada County man serving 20 years in prison for statutory rape.

Louis Watson, Jr., 22, entered a guilty plea to the charges in January of 2010.

Authorities say the victim was 14 years of age when she delivered a stillborn baby at the Grenada Lakes Medical Center in 2009.

Watson admitted to being the father of the child.

In his appeals, Watson says he entered the plea involuntarily, he did not knowingly commit a crime, and the state failed to prove the ages of himself and the victim.

The Mississippi Court of Appeals denied his claims on Tuesday.
