STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) — The Starkville community, Chick-Fil-A, and several other sponsors raised money for the Palmer Home for Children Saturday.
They did this by participating in the Chick-Fil-A Connect Race.
Nearly 500 people ran.
All of the event's proceeds went to the Palmer Home for Children which has locations in Columbus and Hernando.
The home provides support for children in need.
Organizers said they are proud of the community for showing so much support.
"[It's great] to have this kind of support for a first year event and a first year race," Connect Ministries Host Development Coordinator Amanda Butts said. "I feel like this is a really great win. We love to see families come out."
