Former police officer pleads guilty to charges

ABERDEEN,  Miss. (WTVA) -- A former Ecru police officer has pleaded guilty to depriving the rights of two people he pulled over for traffic offenses.

Jody Mac Rock, 35, of Pontotoc pleaded guilty to a two count federal indictment in U. S. District Court in Aberdeen Tuesday afternoon.

Rock was accused on two occasions of pulling over people, then taking cash from them in lieu of writing a traffic citation.

He faces a maximum of one year in prison and/or $100,000 fine on each count.

Rock will be sentenced at a later date.
