OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) _ A former high school softball coach has sued her former employer claiming they violated Title IX.

The federal lawsuit was filed Tuesday by the attorney for Catherine Papagolos aginst the Lafayette County School District.

She claims she was removed as coach of the softball team in March of 2011 during the team's season.

In her lawsuit, she names the district, athletic director Jeff Nelson, and school board member Michael McPhail.

The lawsuit asks for damages, including lost pay, back pay, and other benefits.
