EGYPT, Miss. (WTVA) -- One person is killed in a multiple car accident that happened after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night on 45 Alternate.
Investigators say Keana Brown, 19, of Nettleton, was driving west on Egypt Road in Chickasaw County, when her Nissan Maxima experienced some kind of mechanical issue when she was crossing Highway 45 Alternate.
The car went dead in the southbound lane.
A white Honda Accord, driven by Alisha Hunter, 28, of West Point, was traveling south on 45 Alternate and hit the Maxima.
Authorities say the Accord came to rest on the shoulder of the road.
Then a southbound 2000 Freightliner driven by William Fulford, 58, from Nachedoches, TX, tried to avoid the Maxima but rolled over and collided with both vehicles.
The driver of the Accord was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo with moderate injuries.
The driver of the Maxima and three other passengers left by private vehicle to Pioneer in Aberdeen, including six month old infant.
The infant was transported to LeBonheur.
The driver of the 18-wheeler, William Fulford, was pronounced dead at scene by the Chickasaw County coroner.
