TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- Testimony resumes Friday morning in the hearing for Calvin Ellis, the fired Tupelo High School choral director trying to get his job back.
Ellis testified for close to two hours Thursday recounting what happened before he canceled a school choral performance in October.
He says he canceled the performance due to questions about copyright issues.
It was common practice by the choral department to use certain songs without copyright permission.
A copyright expert later testified Ellis was not in violation of copyright laws and the School district's copyright policy was inadequate.
The hearing is set to resume on Friday at 8:30 am.
