ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) -- David Parvin will remain in the Monroe County jail until his retrial is held in the shooting death of his wife.

A Monroe County judge denied his latest request for bond late Tuesday afternoon.

Parvin, 74, was indicted for murder in the shooting death of Joyce Parvin, 68,, at the family home in 2007.

Parvin contended the shooting was an accident.

He was convicted in 2011 and sentenced to life in prison, but the Mississippi Supreme Court overturned his conviction and ordered a new trial earlier this year.

Parvin was scheduled to be released on a $75,000 bond in June, but assaulted a deputy after being returned to Monroe County from a Mississippi prison.

The judge revoked his bond over the incident.

His attorney had asked the court to reconsider during a hearing Friday in Aberdeen.

Parvin is expected to go to trial during the next term of the Monroe County Circuit Court.
