TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Car collectors and automobile lovers were in Tupelo on Saturday for a one-of-a-kind car show.

The Tupelo Automobile Museum's all-GM "Cruise-In" featured vehicles from General Motors for the public to see.

Brands under the GM flagship include Buick, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Chevrolet and Cadillac.

Some of the vehicles that were not made by General Motors qualify to be in the show because they have engines made by GM.

The oldest vehicle dates back to the 1930s.

Even through the event is entitled a 'cruise-in,' it's not an actual cruise around town.

"We call this a 'cruise-in' because people just come here, they cruise in, they park there cars, they visit with people," adds Allen McDaniel, curator. "They enjoy the camaraderie of being around other people that like GM automobiles. It's just a good day to visit and just kind of enjoy being around each other and talking cars."

The next car show at the Tupelo Automobile Museum will be indoors next month with the event featuring Mopars, which are Chrysler product cars.
