TUPELO, Miss (WTVA)  Hundreds of North Mississippian are still in the dark as crews frantically work to restore electrical power to homes and businesses.

Tupelo Water & Light estimates about a thousand of its customers still don't have power. That number includes both residences and businesses.

Tombigbee Electrical Power Association says it still has nearly 8-thousand customers without power, in both Lee and Itawamba counties.

Both TW&L and Tombigbee hope to have power restored to most of their customers by noon Wednesday.
