COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Crawford man has been charged with aggravated assault after investigators say he hit someone with a vehicle in the parking lot of store.
Authorities say they have charged Willie Ben Hairston, 52, in connection with the incident Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators say Hairston left the store without paying for some of the items.
He then hit someone who tried to help stop him from leaving.
Authorities say Hairston was driving a stolen vehicle when he surrendered to Lowndes County deputies.
He is currently charged with aggravated assault and grand larceny.
Haiston also faces charges in Noxubee County for an incident earlier Wednesday where he rammed two sheriff's department patrol cars and ran from authorities.
