JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Mississippi Supreme Court will not review a Lowndes County aggravated assault case.

Bruce Bradley, 38, was charged with aggravated assault after he punched a man in the face while holding a can of beer.

Court records say Bradley was at the Roast n' Boast in 2009, when he accused a man of stealing beer from his cooler.

The record says the man denied taking the beverage and Bradley punched him.

He was convicted during a trial in Lowndes County Circuit Court in August of 2010 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison and five years probation.

Bradley claims the judge was wrong not to grant a motion for a mental examination to determine whether he was fit to stand trial.

The Mississippi Court of Appeals denied his appeal last year.
