IUKA, Miss. (WTVA) - Residents in Tishomingo County waited with much interest Tuesday night for results in two alcohol-related referendums.

The ballots gave voters the ability to decide whether they wanted to see liquor and beer/light wine sales for the county.

With all 19 precincts reporting Tuesday night, the liquor referendum had 3,232 votes in favor of the measure with 3,213 against. That's a margin of 19 votes.

The beer and light wine referendum drew 3,219 votes for the measure with 3,175 against. The margin in that vote: 44.

There are 67 affidavit ballots which will be counted Wednesday at noon, according to Tishomingo County Circuit Clerk Donna Dill. At that point, the election results will be final.

Those affidavit ballots could change the outcome of one or both referendums.

Election results indicate nearly 53 percent of registered voters in Tishomingo County voted on Tuesday's referendum issues.
