CHICKASAW COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Chickasaw County man faces murder charges in the death of his wife after authorities find the woman's body Sunday morning.
Chickasaw County Coroner Andy Harmon said authorities initially received a call at 5:30 a.m. about a vehicle fire, then what he described as a domestic situation at a home on Highway 8, east of Houston.
Upon arriving, authorities discovered Amanda Porter, 23, inside the residence. Harmon said it appeared she had been stabbed to death.
They also found a vehicle on fire near the home as well.
Harmon said Will Porter, Amanda's husband, was picked up a few minutes later at an undisclosed location by Chickasaw County deputies.
Porter has been charged with his wife's murder.
Harmon said the body has been sent to the state crime lab in Jackson for an autopsy and they should have the results back Monday.
Porter is expected to be arraigned Monday morning.
