TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- A condemned home on West Jackson Street in Tupelo was torn down Wednesday.
The house had been condemned for some time and the city got permission from the owner to tear it down.
The project is not part of the Jackson Street Revitalization effort, however, Mayor Jason Shelton said it is a good example removing blight from the city.
"There is no one size fits all solution for Tupelo," Shelton said. "We have to go street by street... house by house and make the common sense decision for that particular part of the city."
The owner will sell the lot to anyone looking to build a new home.
