Columbus police are on the look out for an inmate who failed to return to the detention center after a 48-hour pass granted by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Police say 28 year old Kenneth Macon had on a GPS ankle bracelet from MDOC but has cut it off. He was suppose to have returned on Sunday, January 31.
Police report that he tried to attack a woman at knife point last week on 16th avenue and then stole her purse.
The Columbus Dispatch reports Macon may be connected to another attack on a elderly couple who was stabbed and beat with a claw hammer Monday in Columbus.
