TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- A new fellowship hall is on the way for Lane Chapel C.M.E. Church in Tupelo.
A crew was at the church Wednesday morning, making way for the center to be built.
It will serve as a place for all ages and will include a daycare center.
The hall will also work to educate children by offering tutoring.
Church leaders are hoping the center will show the community that the church is a place for more than just spiritual needs.
"This is just the beginning phase of showing people that we are serious about making our vision come alive," Lane Chapel C.M.E. Church Reverend Cheryl Penson said. "So, we're excited about it."
The hall will be completed within the next two to three years.
