TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Tupelo Convention and Visitors board has unanimously voted to pitch in more money to help with construction of the Tupelo Aquatic Center.
Earlier this month, Mayor Jack Reed Jr. asked for an additional $429,000 to add some of the features taken away to get the bid under budget.
The money will come from cash reserves at the CVB.
The funding will help with the installation of timing equipment, bleachers, and lockers.
Neal McCoy says they hope to spread the expenditures out of two budget years.
The CVB has already committed to $300,000 to the project.
