JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) -- The number of new businesses forming in Mississippi is on the rise.
Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann says more companies are looking to the Magnolia State because of the resources and workforce available.
He says most business prefer the Limited Liability Company structure to a corporate structure.
Hosemann says the number of new LLC's has risen from 12,005 in 2005 to 14,918 last year.
He says the number of coporate formations decreased by nearly 230 last year.
Mississippi currently has 48,488 corporations registered to do business in the State and 77,704 LLC’s.
