GOLDEN, Miss. (WTVA) — The water department in Golden has issued a boil water alert for its customers.

That's because there was a loss in water pressure, which can lead to contaminants getting into the water supply.

The more than 1,700 customers affected by the alert are advised to boil their water for one minute before drinking or using it.

When the boil water alert is lifted, people are advised to flush their faucets and run their diswashers through a couple of cycles before washing dishes.
