JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) — Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi has responded to the most recent accusation made by the owner of Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory.

Health Management Associates said it had a problem with the insurer's offer on Monday to bring back into its network Gilmore and three other hospitals.

An HMA executive said the offer came with strings attached.

Blue Cross said Thursday the offer to reinstate the four hospitals is based on the exact agreement in place at the time they were kicked out of the insurer's network.

The insurer added its offer did clarify that only those services now being provided at the hospitals would be considered for payment.

In addition, Blue Cross said it would continue to require that certain services be certified and authorized by the insurer before they are performed.
