Bill to rename wildlife refuge clears Congress

WASHINGTON, DC 0(WTVA) _ The U. S. Senate has passed a bill to rename the Noxubee National Wildlife.

Sen. Thad Cochran and Rep. Gregg Harper sponsored the bill to name the refuge for the late Sam D. Hamilton.

Hamilton was a Starkville native and former director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

He died in February of 2010.

The bill now goes to President Barack Obama.
