NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WTVA) -- Janet and Ramon Barreto are in route to Union County to face multiple criminal charges.

Multnomah County sheriff's officials report the Barretos were turned over to Inmate Services of West Memphis, Arkansas Thursday evening.

Sheriff Jimmy Edwards tells WTVA News he had hired the company to help with the extradition of the couple who were arrested in Portland, Oregon on August 12.

The couple faces child neglect, child abuse, manslaughter and tampering with a witness charges.

The Barreto's were arrested in 2008 initially and were free on bond when they left the state.

The U. S. Marshal Service had placed Janet Barreto on their 15 Most Wanted list in hopes of located the couple.

A tip lead to their arrest at a shopping center.

Edwards says the Barretos are expected to return to New Albany Monday.
