PONTOTOC COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) -- Pontotoc County authorities have released the name of a man who died in a traffic accident on Highway 341 Monday.
Coroner Kim Bedford tells WTVA.com an autopsy confirmed the man as Max Staten of the Randolph community.
A Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesperson says Staten, 75, was traveling on Highway 341 when his Isuzu SUV ran off the highway, hit a culvert and caught fire.
The accident happened around 12 p.m. Monday about four miles south of the Highway 9 intersection.
