WATER VALLEY, Miss. (WTVA) -- Water Valley police say an investigation into a shoplifting report ends with an arrest in a drug store burglary.

Chief Mike King tells WTVA.com Beau Rayburn, 31, was arrested Tuesday and charged with a shoplifting at a convenience store on Frostland Drive early Friday morning.

King says shortly before midnight Friday, someone knocked out the rear door of Turnage's Drug Store on North Main Street in Water Valley and took narcotics from the pharmacy area.

Investigators say the street value of the drugs taken was over $30,000.

King says the investigation linked Rayburn to both incidents.

In addition to the shoplifting charge, Rayburn is now charged with burglary and grand larceny.

He is currently being held in the Grenada County jail on a hold from the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
