DECATUR, Ala. (WTVA) -- A man known as the "Ball Cap Bandit" for the robbery of several banks in Alabama and Tennessee has been arrested.

The FBI office in Birmingham confirms the arrest of Cedrick Lamond Hicks Thursday afternoon during a traffic stop in Decatur, Alabama.

Hicks was wanted in connection with the robberies of eight banks, including the People's Trust Bank in Hamilton, Alabama on January 7.
