Argument leads to stabbing charges

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Jasper County man faces aggravated assault charges after he stabbed a man during an argument.

Lowndes County Chief Deputy Mark Miley tells WTVA.com Christopher Dale Porter, 36, of Rose Hill and Mitchell Johnson, 36, of Caledonia were riding in a car together when they got into an argument.

Porter is accused of pulling a knife and swinging it a Johnson, who was driving the vehicle.

Johnson stopped at a store on Plymouth Bluff Access Road and the altercation continued.

Porter then left the scene in the SUV.

Johnson was taken by ambulance to the Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle where he was treated for his injuries and later released.

Porter was arrested a short time later.
