Alabama troopers report 11 deaths over Thanksgiving weekend

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WTVA) — Alabama State Troopers report 11 people died during the Thanksgiving holiday travel period.

In a news release sent Tuesday morning, they deaths were the result of eight accidents reported during the weekend travel period that began Wednesday at 6 p.m. and ended Sunday at midnight.

The deadly accidents occured in Russell, Madison, Crenshaw, Walker, Autauga, Barbour, Pickens and Talladega counties.

In 2012, Alabama State Troopers reported five fatalities during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
