Alabama man arrested for Columbus robbery

An Alabama Man is behind bars facing armed robbery charges.

Columbus Police say 29-year-old Joshua Jeffcoat of Huntsville entered the Rite-Aid pharmacy on the corner of Highway 45 and 18th Avenue 11 a.m. Wednesday morning.

He allegedly handed a note to the pharmacy employee saying he had a gun, wanted specific drugs and if the alarm was sounded there would be a blood bath.

The employee complied.

Jeffcoat and his mother were apprehended a short time later in the Kmart parking lot.

Jeffcoat's mother was released.
