TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- Mission accomplished!

Tupelo's largest neighborhood association is working to put the brakes on motorists.

The Joyner Neighborhood Association has received approval this week from the Tupelo City Council.

Four additional stops signs will be put in place to slow down drivers.

Association President Keith Kantack says there have been numerous accidents in the neighborhood-including one in which a child was struck while riding a bike.

"This is going to improve safety in our neighborhood and a number of places. An awful lot of folks come to visit our neighborhood to walk and exercise and participate in various activities and it's just really going to improve the quality of life for our neighborhood," Kantack said.
