TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) — An 18-wheeler has overturned on the westbound side of Highway 78 in Tupelo east of the Natchez Trace Parkway.
Lee County E911 says the accident happened around 7:30 a.m.
Tupelo Police Lieutenant Brian Brown says the big rig was heading east when it left the roadway and flipped over on the opposite side of the highway.
Brown adds that the driver was walking and talking when officers arrived but was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo to be checked out.
Both westbound lanes are closed as emergency crews clean up the roadway.
