HOUSTON, Miss. (WTVA) -- Houston High School students take to the stage Friday and Saturday to perform the musical "Sound of Music."
They will not be alone in the spotlight.
Members of the community have also volunteered to participate in the performance.
This production is the eighth performance offered up by the Houston Community Theater.
All involved say they are excited to bring this popular musical to the local stage.
"It's a role of a lifetime. I'm so happy I get to do it in my hometown of Houston," student Molly May said.
"It's just so much fun at practices, so we're gonna have a lot of fun doing it for the town," student Carley Hood said.
"We've had a lot of requests for it over the years and we feel that we've got just the perfect cast," Houston Community Theater Director Janet Coker said.
Dr. Larry Newell is the music director for the performances.
