VERONA, Miss. (WTVA) -- The south's future "grillers" are getting plenty of practice these days with help from the 4-H Club.
The organization is teaching children how to cook up their favorite meats.
A competition held at the Lee County Agri-Center is where some 75 children have been competing for top griller.
The 4-H Club holds two competitions-one in the north half of the state and the other in south Mississippi.
"It's just a lot of fun," Rebekah Corbin said.
"They just learn a whole lot about cooking and about even the expense of the meats that we eat, so hamburger compared to ribeye or sirloin compared to ribeye," MSU Extension Agent Belvia Giachelli said.
Winners of both competitions will go on to compete for the state title.
