GRENADA, Miss. (WTVA) -- Grenada police continue their investigation into a Thursday morning traffic accident in the city.

Chief Ben Williams says Kristy Snyder of Grenada suffered serious injuries in the accident on Highway 51 near the Luvata plant around 11:30 a.m.

Williams says it appears Snyder was leaving the plant when she turned in front of a semi-truck driven by William Ballard of Grenada.

Ballard attempted to avoid a collision, but hit Snyder's car on the driver's side.

Snyder was airlifted from the scene to the MED in Memphis.

Williams say Ballard was not injured.
