STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) — Authorities in Starkville continue to investigate the death of a Mississippi State University student.

Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt confirms Teresa Veal, 20, was found dead in her bedroom by one of her friends at Dawgs Landing apartment complex on Louisville Street.

He said she was an out-of-state student at MSU, but had no other information.

Hunt said Veal was found at 1:14 a.m. Saturday.

Hunt said he saw no indications on the body that would lead him to determine a cause of death. Because of that, the body has been sent to Jackson for an autopsy.

Hunt said autopsy results will come back Monday, and if it doesn't reveal a definite cause, the department will have to wait on toxicology results, which is typical procedure.
