WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) - Two Clay County inmates have been charged with possession of contraband in a correctional facility.
According to a news release sent to WTVA.com, Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott says the two were formally charged after authorities discovered cell phones in their possession after a search.
The sheriff identified the inmates as Christopher Smith, 33, and Jeffery Quinn, age 31.
Sheriff Scott says that contraband like drugs, alcohol, and cell phones is a continual problem that all correctional facilities across the country face on a daily basis.
He says his jail is working on a system that would be able to block cell phone usage at that facility.
The sheriff says if anyone has additional information, you are asked to call the Clay County Sheriff's Department at 662-494-2896.
