TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) — A job fair will be held Friday and Saturday for people interested in working for the Tupelo Police Department.

All applicants for a police officer's job will be required to complete a series of physical tests as well as an essay test.

"We will be taking applications for civilians also," said Mark Miller, Tupelo police captain.

All job applicants need to be inside the North Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Center in east Tupelo by 8 a.m. each day before the gates close.

State law says anyone working as a police officer must be at least 21 years old.
