TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Around Mississippi on Saturday you can help the hungry by simply leaving food beside your home mailbox.
The annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is being done by the National Association of Letter Carriers.
Most residents in participating cities and towns received a brown paper bag recently in the mail.
Mail carriers are asking folks to fill those bags with non-perishable food items and leave it by their mailboxes this Saturday.
Last year in Tupelo 8,000 pounds of food was collected and then given to The Salvation Army.
This year the St. Luke Methodist Church food pantry will receive the donated food from Tupelo residents.
Call your local post office if you're interested in giving.
